When you are a new blogger, It is hard to understand anything other than approving adsense and I have done this myself. 

If you have less traffic or your blog have lack content, then your adsense may be approved but you can earn because earning will come only when traffic comes in it and traffic will come only when you write good and quality posts.

That is why I will suggest that no one should apply early on adsense for approved. If your blog is 2-3 months old. And when people start to know you, it is the right time to use your adsense. At that time you can apply for adsense and your adsense will be easily approve.
